Who is Al Judd, and why should I care?

I, like everybody else, am a variety of things to different people. To the touring bands I work with, I am a manger, guide, consultant, ‘soundguy’ solver of problems, taker of responsibility, moderator, negotiator, and in the words of Wang Chung’s Nick Feldman ‘The Masterful One’. Check out the ‘About’ page for more info.

My latest endeavor is radio host on the Big 49 internet radio station, weeknights 7pm-11pm Pacific. It’s uncensored internet radio. You have been advised! HA!

To my son, I am obviously “Dad”, Minecraft ally, chess opponent, bike ride companion, and co conspirator for adventurous travels to the great outdoors.

Ask people who know me, and you will get mixed opinions, LOL! They will, however, tell you I’m loyal and I stay true to my beliefs. If you want to know where I stand on something, I’ll tell you. I believe in freedom, liberty and justice for ALL. If one group isn’t being treated equally, then none of us are. I am ‘of service’ to others, and do what I can to help out. If you come at me with a problem, don’t get mad when I try to help you solve it, because that’s how I deal with problems. What else do you want to know?

My background-

I grew up in Southern California, playing music, hanging out at the beach, getting into the kind of mischief teens in the 80s got into, haha. When I was 17 I moved to L.A. (Echo Park) to be closer to the Hollywood Music scene. I attended Musician’s Institute from ’87-’88, worked at Wherehouse Records on Sunset Blvd. (Remember record stores?) and played around in local bands. I also started running sound around town. Yes, I have stories, but they’re not fit for print on here! I got into audio for T.V. and Film Post Production, and did that until the industry shifted in the early 2000s. Then, once again, I found myself in the live audio world. I’ve been self employed/ freelancing ever since. Now, with everything shut down due to Covid 19, I am reinventing myself yet again. Stay tuned….
